A Bit About Me

I'm a local to the Port Macquarie area, and completed my Diploma of Remedial Massage study at the Mid North Coast TAFE, Port Macquarie Campus.

 

Previously, I had worked in Sydney doing fitness instruction/personal training, before spending 8 years living and working overseas. Upon returning to Port, I decided to enrol in massage with the intention of using it as an adjunct to fitness. As the study progressed, my understanding and interest in Anatomy & Physiology, biomechanics, and rehabilitation became much deeper. So consequently, massage became the primary career focus.

The Level 2 Oncology Massage Therapist (OM2) training provides the awareness and expertise to recognise contraindications, and modify conventional massage for clients on a cancer journey. The adjusted approaches and techniques allow clients to enjoy every possible benefit, in a safe and effective manner.

After successfully passing through a vetting process of the North Coast Cancer Institute at the Port Macquarie Base Hospital, I am included on their list of preferred providers whom they deem safe for patients.

 

I have always been an active participant in many sports. Having completed several off road marathons, numerous half marathons, and Adventure Races in NZ. This provides an incentive to volunteer at local annual events such as the Full and 70.3 Ironman, the 'Walk to d'Feet MND', the Port Macquarie Running Festival, and the Kumiai-Ryu Martial Arts National Training Camp. I have also used Seated Workplace Massage as a very  effective way to actively raise money for the NSW Cancer Council's Relay For Life.
